I offer a range of specialized counseling and therapy services to support individuals dealing with personal and work-related challenges, anxiety, depression, and traumatic experiences.
The approach integrates empathy, client strengths, and evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, and MBSR. In addition, the business utilizes assessment tools, including Enneagram typology, to provide comprehensive support for my clients' needs.
Medical Trauma
As a trauma informed therapist, specializing in medical trauma, I support clients experiencing the psychological impact of a medically traumatic experience. This often occurs from medical or dental treatments, car accidents, orthopedic injuries, as well as a range of challenging medical diagnoses.
The research shows that, in addition to a decrease in anxiety and depression, patients who manage the psychological impacts of medical trauma often improve healing time from injuries.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a scientific psychotherapy technique designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. It involves recalling specific traumatic memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, often side to side eye movements, which helps the brain process and reduce the emotional charge of the memory, as well as sensations experienced in the body. The goal of the therapy is to desensitize the memory and re-process the information so that it no longer illicits a strong emotional distress response.
EMDR helps individuals reduce and often eliminate symptoms of PTSD. It supports the development of a more positive beliefs and self love and acceptance. In addition to the treatment of PTSD from the experience of medical trauma, EMDR is useful in treating anxiety, depression, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, addictive disorders; including eating disorders.
